What was life like before you met Jesus?

Before I met Jesus, I was living for myself. I was looking for my value in others, in the things I could accomplish, in sports, and in school. All of those places left me feeling empty because they only brought temporary satisfaction to my life. I knew something was missing from my life.

How did you meet Jesus?

I had been attending an AWANA program as a kid and was learning all these Bible verses and learning about the power of Jesus. One night after AWANA, I told my mom that I knew I needed Jesus in my life. We knelt at the side of my bed and prayed together. I asked God to forgive me of my sins and to help me turn from my sin and repent. I thanked Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins. I confessed that I believed He rose again and that He had inspired the words in the Bible as a guide for us to be closer to Him. Romans 5:8 says, “But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

Living a life following Christ is not always the easiest thing, but it has brought joy into my life. I know the promises that God has made for me, and I can now recognize all the blessings He has given and continues to give me in my life. God has continued to work in my life over the years and helped me to grow closer to Him. My faith grew immensely in high school through the youth group I attended. He then guided me to a Christian university where He brought amazing friends into my life who continue to build me up, support me, want the best for me in life, and care about my spiritual well-being. He has now brought a wonderful fiancée into my life who loves God with all of her heart. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God has promised me so much and promises a future beyond the life I have here on Earth. He promises one with Him in Heaven for eternity.
