Before Jesus Changed My Life

Before Christ I was very hurt. I turned to sin as an attempt to mask the sadness and loneliness I felt. I was broken, unhappy, and a mean person. I was falling apart and felt so alone in the world. I grew up in a non Christian household that only went to church on holidays. I had no idea who Christ really was until I met my best friend and her family. She and her family would talk to me about it often, but I kind of brushed it off. I started going to church and youth group with them, but most of it was in one ear and out the other (Romans 3:23). Until last year, I really saw the change in my best friend's life. She explained that no matter what worldly desires she used to fulfill herself, she was never satisfied. She stopped turning to the world and started living through Christ. She was more joyful and happy and I was still stuck in my worldly life. This is when I realized how much the Lord can change someone's life. I wanted to experience the love and joy she was experiencing. 

How Jesus Changed My Life

Jesus changed the way I live and my thoughts on life. My friend shared it with me, but I never fully listened. I was always one foot in the world and one foot out. In the summer, I went to her so broken, and she just poured into me (Acts 17:27). I was to the point where I did not think there was a purpose to life. I wanted to give up. But her joy and faith changed my thoughts and how I should be living. The Lord shined through her. She brought me to Christ and let me cry and pour everything out. We sat there and cried together. I gave my life to Christ that night. I came back to school and felt kind of lost and didn’t really have any friends that were in the church. I started falling back into sin. Then, I met my neighbor and he encouraged me to go to a C-group for the first time and come back to Salt. I reached out to some girls in my class, and now they’re some of my best friends and roommates! They encourage me every day and hold me accountable. God has blessed me with a great group of people to support me in this journey (Matthew 5:16). 

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

My life is so joyful now (Romans 15:13). I wake up every day wanting to be in the Word of God. I strive to do everything in His glory. I want to talk to Him and tell everyone about Him! I am much more outgoing and open towards others. I rejoice in life every day! My hope is found in Him, I turn to Jesus for everything now. I don’t feel alone or full of sadness anymore. I am completely satisfied in my life with Christ! (2 Corinthians 5:17)
