What was life like before you met Jesus?

I asked Christ into my life as a teenager, which was a while ago. I just remember a void prior to becoming a Christian and searching for meaning in my life. Everything I tried to fill this void left me feeling empty and unsatisfied.

How did you meet Jesus?

There are several verses that God brought me to that opened my eyes to my need for true saving faith in Jesus.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23)

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 6:23)

"For God So Loved the World - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal." (John 3:16)

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Eph 2:8-9)

What I am looking forward to in Baptism is not only the public proclamation of my faith but a visual anchor of that moment in time, remembering what Christ has done for me.

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:8-9 provide assurance of my salvation. Life is still a struggle, sin will always be there, but Christ is there to pick up the pieces and put it back together. The older one gets the more perspective there is, God has always been there to provide. As the saying goes, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. God was there yesterday, is there today, and will be there tomorrow. I find comfort, joy and peace in the reality of the gospel.
