What was life like before you met Jesus?

Before was reintroduced to Jesus and all of his greatness, I was constantly looking for satisfaction in worldly ways and was far too worried about what others thought about me. All my life goals were self-centered, and I was always looking for the next best thing. I was gauging my success in life on how I developed within my career, the items in my closet, and how much money I had in my bank account. Eventually, I learned that the more I "completed" in life, the more I wanted. I was never satisfied, and this led to severe anxiety and depression.

How did you meet Jesus?

Like many adults, I was raised in a religious household but lost my way as I became an adult. I have a great foundation of God and the sacrifices Jesus made for us, and do not know that there was a specific moment in time when I met Jesus. After a 10-year hiatus from the church, my husband and I decided to try Veritas after a few suggestions from friends. After attending one service, I knew a huge change was going to happen in my life. This change came at the perfect time, as there was a lot of uncertainty in my life and with different health issues that I have been experiencing. I have allowed my uncertainty to be in the hands of Jesus and to trust the path he has me on and what my future holds. Through these trials, I often refer to Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

My entire view of the world has changed by acknowledging that Jesus saved me. Changing how I view my life's purpose has changed what I long for. My anxiety has lessened, and my heart has softened. I no longer am looking for worldly materials to satisfy my needs. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
