What was life like before you met Jesus?

I knew of Jesus for my entire life from church but never allowed Him in my life or cared enough to learn and obey Him. Before I met Jesus Christ, I was trying to find something or someone that made me feel good. I was chasing lust in the flesh when I thought it was love. I thought drugs and alcohol would take away my internal suffering. I was living my life with the ways of the world. I was lacking happiness and fulfillment no matter what I did. I always had this bubble around me to try and protect myself.

How did you meet Jesus?

I kept attending church even when I didn’t want to or care to. But one Sunday during Church, it hit me like a brick during an amazing sermon. I saw how God had worked in my parents’ life, and I knew I needed to pop my bubble and put all my faith and hope in Jesus before it was too late. I now understand that He put some people in my life for a reason and some for a season. The love I have for Christ outgrew my anger and hurt. I find myself being more gracious with myself and others. I trust in God’s plan for me. He has closed many doors but guided me to the right ones. One of the many Bible verses I turn to to keep me focused is 2 Timothy, which says, 2:22 “Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

When I started obeying Jesus, reading my Bible, and learning from church, it was like coming up for fresh air. It was clear to me that God sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord, to be the savior of my life, to die on the cross for his accusers to put death to our sins. We’re called to be Jesus to the people around us. I want to tell everyone to follow Jesus. That’s the only way the world will ever experience God’s love. I can feel Him talking to me every day and making me into a better woman every day, even though I will always be a flawed human. He is showing me what life is made for. I feel at peace even through the chaos. I continue to seek Him through all my days. I have dedicated my heart, soul, and life to Him. 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭18 which says,‬ “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
