What was life like before you met Jesus?

Before I met Jesus, I was trying to find my purpose and acceptance in earthly things. I knew of Jesus my whole life as I grew up in the church and had a strong influence throughout my family. As I got older, I started seeking other people's approval in my life, whether that be athletically, academically, or just in general. I was struggling to fill a God-sized hole in my life and knew that something was going to have to change.

How did you meet Jesus?

I started going to Salt Company with Rylee, and, at first, I was not taking it very seriously. I immediately felt a draw to the great community but was not always attending for the right reasons. I had an unexpected summer and felt an extra draw towards making it a commitment in my life, and I truly started to live for God. It felt like he spoke to me in the sermons and through my friends, and I started to say I knew Jesus and had a relationship with him. Galatians 6:2 says, "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ" and this became evidence as I was confiding in other Christians.

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

After being saved by Jesus, I now know that the earthly things in my life will not ever satisfy the hole I felt, and instead, I realize that God has created me and that I am fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. This is the only acceptance I needed. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13). This is the perfect verse to explain that trusting in God can create a new sense of clarity in someone's life, as it did in mine.
