Before Jesus Changed My Life

I am a sinner. I had a high regard for myself and lacked humility. I thought I was a good Christian but knew there was something I was lacking. I was going through the motions of being a Christian. Attending services was not important to me and I went years without seeing the inside of a church. I lost sight of what's important. I put God and living in a way that made him proud on the back burner. I felt fake. I needed more to be a true Christian.

How Jesus Changed My Life

My awakening started when I had a friend involved in a personal battle. Josh was on a ventilator and basically given little chance of recovering. I was with his family and friends. I wanted to help but felt like there was nothing I could do. I remember from a service where Jake had us pray as a family and said that we need to be disciples of God. In the waiting room, I asked others if they wanted to pray and we did. I said the same thing I said every night before bed. "Lord please grant me one more day with Josh and if you can’t please grant peace to Josh and his family and friends. You above all others I love." I was really surprised when others thanked me for spreading the teaching of the Bible and discovered that prayer was a way to bring us closer to God. Jeremiah 17:14 says, “Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” This to me is a great spiritual passage from the Bible and I think it applies to Josh. Though he was battling a health issue, others need to believe that good can heal them as well spiritually. This verse is a declaration of faith in God's power to heal and save, encouraging us to trust in His ability to restore us completely.

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

After I truly found Christ my life has changed and I am looking for ways to spread the gospel. I am highly technical and want to do this on a micro and macro level. Macro is with friends and others who don't believe or need a little push. I want to help my friends improve, and the only way to do this is to follow Jesus. I want my friends to start a wave and become disciples as well. On my micro level I want to fully bring my grandkids into the gospel. I want them to foster an understanding of what it means to be a Christian and how important it is to them. On my roughest days, I talk to my wife about the gospel and pray. I realize all prayers are heard, but God will decide the path to take. I'm sure you have seen John 3:16, but it really is to me what God and his love is all about. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” I don’t think this can be said or thought of enough.
