Before Jesus Changed My Life
Growing up, I knew about God, but I never really attended church often or felt a connection with him. At one point, before my 8th-grade year, I had really bad anxiety and depression and had terrible thoughts in my head. But thankfully, God blessed me with amazing parents who always told me I could go to them with anything. At the time, I didn’t realize how much God really helped me through that difficult time by the people he put in my life.
How Jesus Changed My Life
I really started to believe in and follow God, going into my senior year of high school, when a friend invited me to his church’s youth group. It was during this time that I came to understand the Gospel, realizing that we are sinners who have gone against God, but we are forgiven and made new through Christ, who paid for our sins on the cross. A verse that has stuck with me since then is Romans 8:18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” This has stuck with me because no matter what we go through, God is always there for us and has great plans for us.
My Life After Jesus Saved Me
After Jesus saved me, I realized how much he loves us. Now whenever I go through trials or have questions or if I’m confused, I know I can turn to and trust in God and feel a sense of peace in him. Especially starting a new chapter in my life with college, there have been so many ways that I have grown closer to him and feel more connected than ever. Even though I have had struggles throughout college so far I have turned to God and he has helped me through those struggles, 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
