Before Jesus Changed My Life
I think growing up in a Christian household, going to church, and being a “good person” made me qualified and able to say I’m living out a Christ-like life. My brokenness, I’m recognizing, is that I don’t think I was truly living my life FOR Christ. I would go through the motions to keep the habits of hearing the gospel, reading scripture, and praying, but without fully immersing myself into the actions.
How Jesus Changed My Life
Starting last summer 2025, my husband, who is always wanting to learn more and more, started reading and studying scripture more. This sparked a lot of conversations that really struck a chord on how we need to be more intentional with our lives and fully surrendering our lives for Jesus. Accepting that He is the way, the truth, and the life - and that He died for US! We need to live every day and make every decision for Him. The surrender I’ve noticed that I’ve been freed from is the desire to have more and compare to others, and the journey of looking for joy in things rather than in acknowledging His design. So many places in scripture I read “you are called to … “ and “go and do …” - these give me comfort knowing that we are growing and learning.
My Life After Jesus Saved Me
Regarding our family, my husband and I started praying over more situations and conversations and decisions we make. Being more intentional about how we raise our family and know that we cannot do this alone. We need to know that we are here to do God's work. With these new disciplines, we are truly trying to live our lives for Christ.
