Before Jesus Changed My Life

Before meeting Christ, life was definitely rough. I was misguided and I didn’t have a great home life, which led to me getting into trouble constantly. I just didn’t know who I even was or what I was made for. Sure, you could say I was having fun or seemed happy on the outside, but when I was alone with just me and my heart, I would always feel that familiar sorrow creep back in. I never grew up being taught about Jesus, and even had many around me telling me that he wasn’t real. I really just felt like my life was falling apart, my grades started to drop, family problems started to get worse, and through it all, I kept trying to find the answer to all my problems sometimes it was me trying to figure out things or money or girls but nothing ever worked I just didn’t know what I would do with my life.

How Jesus Changed My Life

I found myself at Veritas youth group after repeated invitations and evangelical persistence from friends who were involved. Honestly, I initially said yes to their invitations just to get my friends off my back about coming. I didn’t feel like I connected at first, it wasn’t until United Invite and YTH Con, being surrounded by children of God and seeing how he was working in their daily lives really breathed the power of Jesus on me and I felt like my life was changing. He helped me stop doing the hateful and lustful things I was doing. Not only did he ensure my salvation through believing in him, but he was also making me a better person. I was constantly being told “man you look like a different person” or that they could see the fruits starting to develop and grow, Jesus not only led me in the right direction but helped me say the right things to help others that were lost and needed guidance, he showed me I’m not in control of what happens only by his power can he make things happen the way he wants them to, now I am living for his glory and not mine, his will and not mine, his kingdom and not mine.

The gospel, when relating to Christ, is good news about Jesus and ultimately the Word of God (what it does, what it says, etc) in Psalm 34:17-18, it states, “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

Life after being saved is more than I can fathom at sometimes and I’m constantly filled with overflowing joy and on the other hand also face storms as I used to but I have a gracious, and loving and sovereign God that can clear those storms when you have God in your boat during a storm you will never sink you will always have a way out with Jesus doesn’t mean things won’t happen but he will always be there for you. God has also changed how I think and how I act, instead of just worrying about what is to come I put my trust in Jesus for he knows what is going to happen before it happens, Jesus truly showed me that the Christian life is not to think that you’re perfect but to show you that you’re not, and that you need him for anything and everything in your life. I’m beyond grateful to be predestined by God and for him sending his only son to dwell upon us and pay the sacrificial price us sinners were to pay so we have hopes for eternal life.
