Before Jesus Changed My Life

I've always lived in a Christian home with Christian parents, but I never actually knew Jesus. Before Christ really entered my life, I was angry and bitter. I hated it when things didn’t go my way and often got into arguments with my parents over things. I also had really bad anxiety, so bad that I had to take meds for it for several years. I was also confused and couldn’t find a purpose, which led me to become very sad. I found myself trying to find my purpose in sports and money. I was greedy and wanted everything to be about myself. I thought everything revolved around me and my life, and never really had any care for what the people around me needed.

How Jesus Changed My Life

Jesus changed my life in so many ways. He sent me friends to help me grow closer. He also sent me my leaders, and they have poured into me every single week. They all helped me see God for what he truly is, an everlasting father who has always loved me and brought me in with open arms. In Luke 15:20, it says, “And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embarrassed him and kissed him.” This verse really sums up how God changed my life. I was very lost, and even then God still chased me down and brought me in.

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

My life since Jesus has saved me has been a lot different. My life went from me trying to put God on the bench to him being the star player. I went from a person who wants everything to go my way to someone who sees the good in everything because God works in and through all the bad. He helped me to realize that life isn’t all about me and what I want, it is about his will and what he is going to do, and that I need to sit back and watch the amazing things that he is doing. In my life now, I went from not talking about or knowing God to inviting my friends to church because I want them to have the same relationship with him that I do. Another verse that resonates with me is 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Because of his work, I am a new person who is centered in him.
