Before Jesus Changed My Life

Before I truly accepted Jesus, my life was characterized by all of the normal activities of growing up in a Christian home. I went to Church, went to youth group, and went through the motions. But I didn't do much outside the Church. You could say I had faith but it wasn't a saving faith. I knew about God, but I didn’t know God or trust God as Lord and Savior.  

How Jesus Changed My Life

During my middle school years life threw many challenges at me, this would continue into early high school. I finally broke one day, about 15 years ago, and turned away from this nominal Christian lifestyle. This lasted only about a month until I experienced a near-death experience, an experience that gave me a taste of what life completely apart from God was like. That evening, as I considered the gravity of this situation, I was haunted by the question of how my life was spared in this situation. And all that I remember is this sense of God's love being the answer in that moment. God used this situation to open my eyes to the reality of the Gospel. This change that God caused in my heart, caused me to return to Church but now with the true reality of the Gospel and not just going through the motions.  

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

My life has been different in that my faith is now personal, I no longer just go through the motions of Christian activities. I desire to be poured into by the community of believers around me in all the different circumstances. And that ultimately it is Christ that I cling to in all situations, I seek Him in all aspects and for all aspects of my life because without Him and His work in my life I would still be dead in my old life.
