Before Jesus Changed My Life

My life looked very common for a high school boy before I found Jesus. Drinking with friends, many bad habits and thoughts, and judging others’ actions. All of these things I did without any guilt for the most part. I always thought I would find fulfillment in the world but I would be let down over and over again.

How Jesus Changed My Life

Jesus changed my life as soon as I started to have faith in him and trust him. I went to Salt Company when my girlfriend's brother had convinced us to go check it out. I did not expect much. And for a while nothing really changed. We went to Salt for some weeks and there was no conviction for my sins. But one day, Danny had a message about sinning, and how when you give up your habits and turn to God that is when he will truly start to work for you. This is when I started to feel disappointed in the ways I was living. I knew I needed to stop the same sins that I kept falling into and expecting fulfillment in. Again and again God would speak out to me and eventually he gave me the motivation and conviction to get rid of the bad habits. God is always there for us, but we put barriers up that keep him from impacting us fully. And when I took down those barriers and allowed Him to come into my life, this is when I truly started to see change. Knowing that my sins are covered and were nailed to the cross with Jesus, and he took the punishment from me, is how I learned to love him. He shows his grace towards me. This is how He changed my life for the better. He fulfills me. By consistently reading His words and letting Him into my life, I can grow a deep foundation in Him.

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

My day-to-day life is so much different than what it looked like 1-2 years ago. I now understand God's presence and feel convicted when I sin. I now understand meaningful words in the Bible and am learning more and more every day when I open my Bible. My lifestyle has drastically changed from drinking and hanging with my friends to living for Him and repenting of my sins instead of not feeling guilty. He has made me feel new and given me hope for what happens after life here on earth. Being faithful to Him has been the best thing I have ever done because I know that no matter what happens in my life, I have a firm foundation and He will be with me every step of the way. I know that as long as I stay on His path and take the steps He wants me to, my life will be lived for Him and His purpose.
