Before Jesus Changed My Life

Before I knew Christ, I would seek out sin and cheap replicas and be in my sin and darkness. I would try to work for my salvation, but it never proved fruitful. Sin always required more from me and left me emptier than before.

How Jesus Changed My Life

The summer between sophomore and junior year of high school, I was exhausted by how much sin required from me and how broken sin left me. Romans 5:8 says, “God shows His love for us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” And that truth rocked my world, struck deep into my heart, and amazed me that someone could love me so much as to look past my sin. From then on, I was refreshed in the gospel and looked to Christ as my sole provider of joy and pleasure, no longer looking to the desires of my flesh. The gospel is the good news of Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. Romans 6:23 says that our wages of our sins is death, we deserve death but God loved us that while we were still sinners Christ died for us and through faith in Jesus we inherit what He earned which is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

Now, as a saved image bearer, I have a newfound desire to pursue godliness in all aspects of my life. I see fruit manifesting in my life from looking back just a year; the growth from true justification and living a life of sanctified living. My heart has been softened for believers and for the gospel. I have a love for Christian community as a result of loving the Lord, I love His people. And most of all, as a result of loving the Lord, I hate sin and what it does. Praise the Lord. I've been born again not by works of the flesh but of the Spirit of God, and as a result, I want to show others this reality of God's work in my heart and my life!
