Before Jesus Changed My Life

Before I knew or at least was fully surrendered to Jesus, my life had no peace or sense of self-worth to it. Any joy I found was temporary and came at a cost to obtain. Life solely revolved around myself and whatever could satisfy my desires at the time. For I did know by the still small voice or drive I had internally (Romans 1:18) that there was much more to live for than just myself and its temporary desires.

How Jesus Changed My Life

I first drew close to God following yet another breakup from a past partner. At the time, my life was at a high or low depending upon my relationship status and what my perceived sense of value that came from that relationship was. This was very unstable and exhausting. I spent time scouring the internet looking for ways to either meet new partners or fix the old relationships I had before. In this search, I started coming across Godly teachings from a Bible school in Colorado that really gave me peace. I just started having so much relief knowing that God loved me independent from my performance or value in the world’s standards (Ephesians 2:8-9). I came to fully embrace the gospel, which describes God's vast love for all of us, because God is love (1John 4:8). Sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2), and thus we need a savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the debt for our sin, and those who believe in him shall have life eternal (John 3:16). The gospel describes how we are new creations in Jesus and the immense authority we now carry as believers. Praise God!

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

Now, I truly experience supernatural peace (Philippians 4:7). My walk with God may not be effortless, but it’s full of joy—this type of joy I couldn’t find before. I serve a God who loves me more than I can comprehend, wants to bless me more abundantly than I could desire, and gave me life eternal in heaven! Hallelujah! Praise be to our God who paid the price for us all that we may receive life everlasting through faith in him! I now can genuinely walk in gratitude no matter what my affliction may be because we have been made righteous through God's sacrifice (2 Corinthians 5:21).
