Before Jesus Changed My Life

One year, my dad took his own life, and it brought on a deep depression. I got into hard drugs and alcohol. l I didn’t have anything or anyone to live for. I always thought I was alone. One night, I passed out on pain pills, and I saw a light and then woke up. When I came to, I realized God was telling me he had plans for me, I needed to be patient and trust him. I never believed in God before this took place, but he made me see who he is.

How Jesus Changed My Life

When I got clean and sober, my family started coming around. They helped me get back on my feet and let me stay with them. One day, I met my wife at a rodeo and realized she was the one. I couldn’t thank God enough for waking me up and telling me to be patient. I began attending church, learning from Sunday messages, and reading the Bible myself. God made me see that I am a sinner and the only way that I could be right with him was through believing in Jesus. In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

My Life After Jesus Saved Me

I can now let God lead me and my family in all ways. I know that I can trust Him. He is working on His timeline, and He gives me the faith to be patient. I am being baptized to show that I belong to Jesus. Romans 6:5-11 says, “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.” I get to live my life for God now!
