We want to give you an honest, behind-the-scenes look at this role. Our goal is to ensure you know exactly what you’re stepping into—both the exciting opportunities and the difficult challenges.
🌟 The Highlights
You're the glue that keeps it all together
- This team thrives on creativity—but creativity needs structure. You’ll be the one who brings order to the chaos: managing timelines, assigning tasks, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
You'll see every project and process.
- You’ll have your hands in everything from website updates to sermon graphics to social media campaigns. You’ll help shape how we prioritize and execute across all channels.
You'll empower a team.
- While you won’t be designing or filming yourself (unless you want to), you’ll play a huge role in helping the team succeed by giving them clarity, organization, and support.
You'll collaborate with every ministry.
- You’ll help navigate incoming communication requests, translate them into actionable tasks, and serve as a key connector between ministry teams and the Communications Department.
You'll build systems that last.
- This is your chance to create better workflows and sustainable systems that help the team move faster and smarter.
⚠️ The Hard Stuff
You’re not “just” an assistant
This role requires discernment and leadership. You’ll have to manage priorities, advocate for clarity, and sometimes say no or push for more details before assigning a task
You’ll juggle a lot of moving parts
Creative projects come with last-minute edits, vague requests, and shifting timelines. You’ll need to stay flexible while keeping everything organized.
You’ll need to manage up, down, and sideways.
You’re supporting a Director, coordinating creatives, and working with leaders from other departments. You’ll need relational intelligence and a proactive mindset to navigate all of that well.
You’ll work behind the scenes—but carry big responsibility.
You won’t always be in the spotlight, but your role is vital to everything the team produces. We need someone who takes that seriously.
🔧 The Setup
Why does this role exist?
- We’ve recognized that our Director needs a partner—someone who brings structure, support, and day-to-day task management so they can lead with vision and clarity.
How fast do you need to get up to speed?
- In your first 60–90 days, we’ll expect you to learn our tools, build rapport with the team, and take full ownership of project management, intake processes, and team coordination.
🧭 Environment & Culture
Work hours: Part-time, typically 20 hours/week. Some weeks may flex with ministry rhythms or project deadlines.
Workspace: Office-based with a collaborative, team-driven environment.
Culture quirks:
- We care more about ownership than job titles.
- You’ll get input from multiple directions—discernment is key.
- We’re a church staff—so character, spiritual maturity, and alignment with our mission matter deeply.
🧨 If You’re Not a Fit…
This role isn’t for you if:
- You get overwhelmed by too many open tasks or need every detail clearly spelled out.
- You prefer repetitive work over variety and problem-solving.
- You struggle to take initiative or follow through on small but critical details.
- You don’t enjoy serving in a behind-the-scenes capacity.
✅ If You’re a Fit…
This could be a perfect fit if:
- You love organizing people, tasks, and timelines—and you’re great at keeping others on track.
- You’re proactive, detail-oriented, and bring calm to creative chaos.
- You want to support a mission bigger than yourself and thrive in a church staff culture.
- You enjoy empowering others and removing roadblocks so they can do their best work.
